Derivation of Village Name

(Video by: Jurmey Rabgay)

Until now, not a single people from our village has undoubtedly explained on how Toktops got settled on a triangular-shaped landscape between two big water falls. By referring to the journals and histories authored by the researchers, and by judging through different names designated to each household, I, in my own view would like to conclude that the people in our village is mixed with different ethnic group.
Anyways, Sangay Dawa here, to the best of his knowledge tries to explain on how the name of our village (called Toktokha) was named by the "Great Tshandra Trulku" during hundreds of years ago.

Original Choreography

The Boedra (or Gorgom) dance known as "Chumo Sharshar Mardro" is rarely danced by the people in our village. Ap Sonam Tshering, one of the oldest fellow citizens leads the dance by keeping its originality. The way he performs here in this picture is in fact the original choreography which had been danced in the past by elderly people in our village. Similarly, there are many boedra dances which our youths should really need to bring back its original choreography - by just following steps of the senior people in our village.
